What it’s like to work at whg

We have a great culture here at whg, one that we are careful to nurture and continually develop, with a real focus on our people and customers. We’re values led and really driven by our social purpose, and committed to developing our colleagues, promoting empowerment and an output focused approach.

Given the above, whilst we absolutely support hybrid working, we also know how important it is for colleagues, and especially our leaders, to have a strong presence both in the office and on site with our field-based colleagues and our customers. So the expectation is for all office-based colleagues to be in the office at least 2 days each week, but for new starters more frequent attendance is a must – especially to build those all important relationships across the business.

Colleague wellbeing is key to us at whg – we have a culture that cares about our people and offer a wide range of engagement and wellbeing initiatives to ensure our colleagues are always at their best. So much so, that we’ve recently launched our brand new Reward and Recognition Platform, boost, offering a wide range of health and wellbeing support, recognition for great performance, shopping discounts and information about our pension scheme.

Not only are we really focussed on our colleagues, we’re all about making a difference to our customers and communities and we are far more than just a landlord. It’s great to come to work every day and know you’re making a real difference to the lives of our customers.  Social purpose means a lot to us and aligns with our values and ways of working.

This doesn’t mean we’re not ambitious… we have a Corporate plan that sets out what we want to achieve, and we are currently in the process of thinking about what our next Corporate Plan might contain.

We also offer great working conditions and have a range of benefits… click here to find out more!
